About Tsio Hai Waldorf School
Nestled in the outskirts of Xinpu Township, Hsinchu County, Tsio Hai Waldorf School is embraced by mountains and rivers. It is just a five-minute drive from downtown Xinpu and offers quick, convenient access to the Hsinchu THSR Station.
Tsio Hai is deeply grateful for its sprawling four-acre natural sanctuary—a gift brought together by the love and devotion of our community. Nearby flows the Xiaoli River, the mother river of Xinpu, while the trails of the Feilong Trail wander along the hills behind us. Surrounded by this natural landscape, we have the privilege of localizing the principles of Waldorf education: empowering children to authentically explore the world, sharpen their capacity for critical thinking, and weave local memories into the cultural tapestry of Taiwan.
As our students step beyond the four corners of our campus and venture into Taiwan’s mountains and forests, these memories rooted in the land provide a solid, grounding foundation for their self-discovery. From the Xiaoli River out to the broader waters and oceans beyond, maritime learning accompanies their inner growth—from the Grade 7 Age of Discovery to Grade 10 Oceanography and Meteorology. These experiences serve as a rite of passage, guiding them toward self-directed free will.
By the time our students graduate in Grade 12, we aspire for them to become individuals filled with enthusiasm for the world, eager to engage in lifelong learning, and equipped with objective powers of observation—capable of clearly perceiving challenges and thoughtfully solving them.
